Johnny Blaze became the Ghost Rider when he made a deal with 'Satan' and his soul was bonded with the demon Zarathos.

Eventually Blaze becomes free of the curse after a battle with Centerous. Him and Zarathos both got trapped in the soul crystal. This lead Johnny to now start a life with Roxanna. they got married, had two kids, and Blaze soon owned the carnival. Soon he would find out that the Ghost Rider was back. this time controlling Daniel Ketch. thinking it is Zarathos, he goes after him to kill him.

He caught Daniel but he turned into Ghost Rider and turned Blaze's shot gun into a weapon that shots hell fire. Moments later Blaze finds out the Ghost Rider is a good guy after a fight with Ghost Rider's arch enemy Blackout. The two stop Blackout and send him to containment.

Blaze and Ghost Rider would soon team up again this time after ghst Rider had a vision of the coming of Lilith and the rise of the Midnight Sons. Blaze and Ghost Rider would then search fr the other Midnight Son members and later fight Lilith and her demon children in Greenland. Thought ghost Rider died in battle, he stayed with doctor Strange in hopes to bring him back to life which they did.

Blaze also helped Ghost Rider prevent the resurrection of Deathwatch with the help from Spider-Man and a little help from Venom.

Soon the carnival would be under attack by Centrious's FIRM as well as Vengeance. With ghost Rider they defeat Vengeance.

At one point, Blaze was killed by Blade who was possessed as Switchblade but was later brought back to life.

Later Blaze would fight Lilith again but this time Centrious was helping her. Blaze would get wounded in a battle with Skinner and be taken to Centrious's lair where he was mortally cut up in Centrious's search for the Medallion of Power. He would be rescued by ghost Rider and later healed into a metal armor. He would defeat Vengeance but later join him with Ghost Rider to defeat Lilith and the now returned Zarathos in what would lead to the Siege of Darkness.

During the Siege, Blaze, Ghost Rider, and Vengeance where sent to another dimension to be trapped by Lilith but they escaped. He would then defend the Lilin from Doctor Strange's mansion. Later he and Ghost Rider, and Vengeance would use the Medalion of power and defeat Lilith and her Lilin but soon have to fight Zarathos and the Fallen.

After the siege, Blaze would fight Varana, help Cardiac, and sadly lose his wife and kids. This lead him to finally kill Centrious.

Blaze would become the Ghost Rider again.

and teams up with the new Ghost Rider, Daniel Ketch who is later revealed to be Blaze's brother from their mentor Caretaker.
