Dc Change of Heart Suddenly (John Stewart Lives)
Traffic peaked at Bleeding Cool to what I believe is an all-time record for the site, as John Stewart story managed to nudge out the already massive Angela/Guardians Of The Galaxy post.
Since that initial article there has been considerable hubbub in 1700 Broadway.
And I’m now being told be sources that as a result of the reaction – your reaction – that this particular plot has been nixed. Maybe it will now be a fake out, maybe it won’t happen at all. But John Stewart, DC’s most prominent black superhero, is not being killed off.
That’s the the thing about DC Comics, and it’s an aspect that frustrated creatives and even led to this very situation, they do now turn on a sixpence. Certainly in the light of the Orson Scott Card situation.
Good writers better know that fans will take their stuff seriously, if people think painting a prophet will get them killed just wait until they deface more great characters. Nowadays fans have the power and they can print guns.

It's amazing what fans can pull off, my question now is why didn't this work in the case of Young Justice, GL, or for Damian Wayne. Still this is an accomplishment.

I hadn't even heard about this. I woulda been pissed. If you don't understand why people love John, you need to go read Green Lantern: Mosaic. Awesome stuff. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Lantern:_Mosaic

@Avenging-X-Bolt: Uh, who says that's the Creeper? It looks like your typical Japanese demon. Creeper's supposed to be appearing in Nightwing.
We assumed it would be in Nightwing. DC never explicitly stated it. Its now painfully obvious tht he mystery character on the Nightwing cover is going to be the Prankster who is slated to show up in the series
This just goes to show you just can't keep a brother down. Good to see Johns fanbase is still strong.
Hmm. Now re-hire Fialkov.
Seriously, they just let go a very talented writer defending a position which they later decided to change. Now they're back to square one without Fialkov. Great job DC! They've also cancelled his other book (I, Vampire) even though it outsold the lowest selling book by over 1,000 dollars. As fans we're just left hoping for the best but expecting the worse. Hopefully, they'll be a surge of great writing that will restore our faith in DC but more likely, the main books will steadily improve and the good side titles will be picked off one by one.
