Hellblazer
is a comic volume from Vertigo that started in 1988
Perhaps best known as being Vertigo's longest-running comic book series because of the fact that it began before Vertigo was a publisher, five years before in fact and that it's still ongoing. Apart from that, it is also known as the tale of John Constantine, one of Vertigo's most renown characters.
Unlike most Vertigo volumes, due to its extreme length, this one has had various writers, and oftentimes the series is judged within these writer's runs rather then as a whole since the series has changed through the decades.
A few issues with guest writers aside, the primary writers of the series are as follows...
(NOTE: There have also been guest writers within these runs but for the most part it was the one writer).
Jamie Delano: 1-40
Garth Ennis: 41-83
Paul Jenkins: 89-128
Brian Azzarello: 146-174
Mike Carey: 175-215
Denise Mina: 216-228
Andy Diggle: 230-249
Peter Milligan: 251-current
