Neil Marshall will direct the Constantine pilot for Warner Bros. TV. The Constantinepilot was ordered by NBC during a rash of superhero related TV projects includingHourman,Gotham, and The Avenger (the pulp hero not billion dollar franchise of heroes). The script is written by Daniel Cerone (Dexter, The Mentalist) based on a story from himself and DC Godfather David S. Goyer. Constantine will follow the roguish anti-hero magic man as he is thrust into protecting the world form supernatural forces.
The character of John Constantine is best known for his long run as the lead in the Hellblazer comic published through Vertigo. The character is no stranger to live action adaptation, a less than well received live action film starring Keanu Reeves was released in 2005.
Director Neil Marshall is best known in films like The Decent and Centurion. Marshall has more recently turned to directing television, directing the episode “Blackwater”, Game of Thrones season 2 penultimate episode and more recently the first and third episode of Michael Bay produced Starz series Black Sails.
