Marvel.com has a podcast, who knew?
Anyways, this week the Mighty Marvel Podcast hits it's 100th episode and it features Brian Michael Bendis, Jeph Loeb, Matt Fraction and more big stars of the Marvel Industry, but the star of this particular podcast is Joe Quesada celebrating his 10 years of being Editor in Chief of Marvel:
This is it True Believers, the Mighty Marvel Podcast you've been waiting for--EPISODE 100 with Editor-in-Chief and Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada!
That's right folks, Joe, stops by to talk with fan-favorite host and Marvel Senior Art Director Jeff Suter about his 10 years as EiC and bestows some helpful tips on how to break into the industry. Listen in as Joe reflects on his time in Marvel Knights, bringing this century's hottest new talent to Marvel and his role in the creation of the Ultimate Universe! You've heard about the top-secret creative retreats and in this episode of the MMP, find out where they began! This is one episode no Marvel fan can miss!
I did not realize that Joe Q has been in charge for 10 years now, and in this past decade he has done so much with the company including Ultimate Universe, Avengers Disassembled, House of M, Civil War, One More Day and much more than that. All of this, without the EiC's approval none of this would've happened.
Congratulations to Joe Quesada for his 10 Years of running the show in making Marvel our Universe!
EDIT: Also, apparently there was cake (right)! The Cup O' Joe: Marvel T&A Brevoort's Big Ideas article over at CBR.com posted a piture of the cake that was made to celebrate Joe Q's 10 year run! The picture was tweeted and a lot of people mistook this as a celebration to the Daredevil series' end... Tom Brevoort explains:
Can I have a piece?
In point of fact, that cake had nothing to do with the end of "Daredevil." That cake was part of a celebration of the fact that Joe has been Editor-in-Chief for ten years. And so a bunch of us, headed up by C.B. Cebulski, all kicked in a little money and had a cake made as well as some other Daredevil and Spidey cupcakes. It was a celebration for Joe at the end of the three Retreat days...that is what the cake was actually about.
