Joe Piper is a Mickey Mouse opponent introduced in the comic strip story "The Plumber's Helper" (1938). In the story his work as a plumber is a front for his activities as a burglar. He appeared in his first original comic book story in 1961 and has seen frequent use. He has used various occupations as fronts for smuggling and other suspect activities. He typically seems amiable and polite, unlike most Mickey villains.
