Plot Summary
At the start of the issue Superman is overseeing the burial of one of their own: Rex Mason, Metamorpho. The current members of the Justice League hold a recruitment drive to begin the process of adding new members to the League as well as combating accusations of elitism. One candidate really impresses them: Tomorrow Woman. In truth, however, Tomorrow Woman is a sophisticated android created as a weapon meant to kill the Justice League. Her creators are T.O. Morrow and Professor Ivo and they plan for her to set off a telepathically enhanced EMP that destroys the electrical activity in the brains of all the members of the Justice League. Instead, Tomorrow Woman develops ethics and an independent agenda and chooses to be good. She sacrifices her own life in defeating the weapon, "If", and the Justice League has to bury yet another of their members.
