FROM THE LONGBOX : JLA #28

This issue answers the question "what happens if we are invaded by creatures from the 5th dimension. As more of Mxyzptlks people are coming to earth. It is established that Johnny Thunders lightining bolt is a djinn, as well as the people of the 5th dimension.

The Former hero Triumph is trying to sell some of the stuff he took from the JLA trophy room when he was a member. The villains he is selling the asrenal decide to kill them, yet unwittingly release another Djinn named LKZ, who returns him to his Triumph self ( with a better haircut ) and then begins to wreak havock.

    Review :

This is a classic set up issue, all the action revolves around introducing the players. It is fast paced, but jamm packed. Almost to the point of being cluttered. However, the middle section of the book, is not focused on the story at all, but rather the JSA, so it goes to show that they will play a large part in the coming saga.

Of course nothing tells of the danger than to see the Spectre laid low, Zauriel the Leagues resident angel has a conversation about it with another Angel on who may have benefieted. If their is a big flaw to the book it has to be the inclusion of Triumph. he is a boring answer to a bad character at Marvel. Wait .. was he created first? Who cares, it is a bad idea on both sides of the fence. He is so boring, that I had to look his name up twice to remember it.

Over all this book is okay. It hasn't got any teeth to it, nor an emotional hok, making all the action packed into the pages as usless as anything else. remember guys, we know this is the JLA, they are going to make it out. It is your job to make us care how.
