From The Longbox : JLA #16
SUMMARY :
The JLA decides to be a bit more media friendly and they invite the press up to the Watchtower. Their intention is too introduce the new roster of the JLA. Along with them they bring in a contest winner who calls himself Retro. Little does the League know that Retro was killed by Prometheus who has taken his place and wants to destroy the JLA.
REVIEW:
I find Prometheus to be an interesting villain, however, a lot of things that happen in this book could only be believed if we forget what we know about a lot of the characters. Yet, the writer knows how to set up a crisis, and if they don't have a villain who can take on the League in a direct fight, they should use him to take the league down one by one and by creating chaos.
Of course the Batman scene was played out well, and knowing the damage he did, the last panel of Prometheus standing over a fallen hero, and challenging two more makes for a good cliffhanger.
Over all, this is a decent chapter one. A good book on its own.
