Jinx is an East Indian elemental sorceress who can use her magical abilities for a variety of effects. In the animated series her powers are different, as she psionically manipulates probability. Edit
COMICS
There were only four other acolytes in the East Indian temple where Jinx trained, and after she had learned the secrets of sorcery, she was the only one left, having used her dark powers to kill them and her teacher. Jinx was eventually captured and sent to the US, where prisons were capable of holding a meta human such as herself.
She was turned over to S.T.A.R. Labs, where the Fearsome Five freed her. After joining the Fearsome Five and holding New York hostage, the Titans defeated Jinx and her team in battle.
Later, Jinx joined Villainy Inc. - a group of female villains formed by the Altantean Queen Clea who stole the Trident of Poseidon and tore a dimensional hole into Skartaris. There, Villainy Inc. defeated Travis Morgan and his Sorceress daughter Jennifer Morgan. The group was able to take over the ancient city of Shamballah, until Wonder Woman arrived and destroyed Villainy Inc. member Trinity, a living computer virus who had downloaded herself into the master computer controlling all of Skartaris, using the Trident of Poseidon.
Later, Jinx was recruited by Dr. Sivana into a newly formed Fearsome five, consisting of herself, Psimon, Gizmo, Mammoth, and a newly-restored Shimmer.
ANIMATED
Jinx first appears in the Teen Titans animated series in episode "Final Exam". Here she is a H.I.V.E Academy student with Mammoth and Gizmo. After the HIVE Academy was destroyed Jinx and her friends formed the H.I.V.E F.I.V.E [a reference to the Fearsome Five]. In episode 60 (Lightspeed) she tries to join the Brotherhood of Evil by capturing Kid Flash. After capturing him she then started to have a crush on Kid Flash and eventually freed him brfore Madame Rouge took him back to the Brotherhoods base. After this she decideds to turn a new leaf. She has probability manipulation powers which she generates in waves or balls of energy known as hexes. Her probability manipulation powers allow her to dodge projectiles, bestow bad luck on her enemies, and break objects and fire powerful waves of energy.
She also made regular apperances in the Teen Titans Go! comics starting in issue #1. In issue #26, hints are given of her later "turning over a new leaf" (as seen in the episode "Lightspeed"). Issue 27 showed that she still had a crush for Cyborg (as seen in the episode Deception) where she was seen putting a love letter under the Titans Tower door, and stalking him while on his date. She also appeared in issue #34 as Kid Flash's girlfriend and became jealous when he began inadvertently flirting with Raven, Argent, and several other females. She also gets captured with the other heroines by Blackfire and was rescued by the Titans in issue #36. In issue #39, she is seen on a date with Kid Flash, but Larry arrives (who is playing cupid) strikes the other women with cupids arrows, she becomes jealous and attempts to keep them from falling in love with her boyfriend. She also appeared in issue #40 as part of the H.I.V.E F.I.V.E. She was then seen helping the Titans against the Fearsome Five. When they make their appearance to Cyborg and Beast Boy, Jinx is with them. After the Fearsome Five go into Titans Tower, the Titans, Jinx, and Kid Flash ambush them. It is also revealed in issue #53 that Kid Kold (AKA Captain Cold) once dated Jinx before she joined the H.I.V.E academy, and her name is Lucky.
POWERS
Jinx is an elemental sorceress whose abilities include: mystical force bolts, ability to dissolve matter to convert into energy, create emerald flames and earth tremors. Other unknown powers may exist. Jinx's abilities are tied to elemental forces, and her powers are limited by her contact with the ground at her feet. Jinx has been shown to defeat powerful sorceresses such as Jennifer Morgan in mystical combat.
