I love Lee's style, and I think that his interior art is almost always beautiful, but I've noticed that whenever he creates an image with a focal character, such as the recently released cover art for Superman Unchained, I really dislike it.
I'm probably alone, but does anybody else feel the same way?

Yeah, I feel you. He doesn't really have that artistic quality that I've come to expect from cover art. His covers tend to just look like interior art that is used as a cover.

He lacks imagination in general! His artwork is good but his layouts and covers are very basic! Look at the Flash,Superman(whatever after 13),Green arrow (issue 17) you will see that the panels are put in a great and fun way interesting to the eye

    EXAMPLE

    Lee's JL

Still he is a beast when it comes to splash pages they cover his weaknesses as an artist and show his detailed art!
