I got the chance to have a long chat with Jeph at the Long Beach Comic Con.  Since our talk went on for a bit, I decided to cut the interview into two parts.  Here is the first part mainly dealing with Red Hulk, Red She-Hulk, War of the Hulks and more.

Stay tuned for Part 2 dealing with Ultimatum, the New Ultimates and more.

As much as people bash Jeph Loeb, he has intriguing stories and ideas. Hopefully the Red Hulk mystery doesn't lead to disappointment when that reveal hits.

...There goes my hopes of ever having a blue Hulk in normal continuity, though. :(

It will be funny as hell if Red Hulk was (or was related) to Phoenix.

Aaaaand, there's still a part 2.  I'm so grateful that Jeph sat through all my questions right after his last panel of the day.  We even got to talk a bit afterward.  This is why I love my job.

Nice job, G-Man!  How nice and awesome of the man to talk at length to you.  You had some great Q's, G, so a great job your way.

Again and again I am tired of people griping about Red Hulk.  Man, I am digging this whole thing.  Its been a blast to me.  I am looking forward to more.   I am curious how Doc Samson's origin ties in to all this, interesting.  I am surprised regarding Doc Samson's role in this whole scenario, so this intrigues me even more, always thought Samson was quite a unique character in the whole Hulk line-up.

THIS is what makes a good story and good writer.  The man also knows how to interact and use the artists and their varying styles,  and that's important.

Having read Hulk and not being totally on board with the pacing and stories since World War Hulk, Loeb always impresses me in interviews about what's next. He makes it sound like there is some excitement on the way.

As dumb as it sounds I think I'd feel less annoyed with red Hulk stories if the price were $3 instead of $4.

love Whilce Portacio.  He gave Iceman rings around his wrists that cool as hell at first.  Then everyone did it and got old.  Wish somebody would bring back the Cyberais back X-factor too.

The Ultimates is probably one of my favorite comics of all time, and with all of the delays Ultimate Marvel has, I can probably wait...one more day (maybe)

Nice work G-man. Keep on truckin' with those interviews.

My heart goes out to Jeph Loeb ever since his son died. His various dark tones in Batman the Long Halloween to Spider-man Blue has some mind blowing moments. I don't mind his Red Hulk, I do however find the dialogue to be silly along with the dys-continuity. Words like "A-bomb"  come off as if the book was written by Jay (from Jay and Silent Bob). It just made the story that much harder to swallow.

If I could ask Loeb one question it would be, "How do you like the fact that Bendis just undid the death of Spider-man and Human Torch immediately after Ultamatum?" Pretty much spelled out what he thought of Loeb's catastrophe.

i love all of jeph's DC work, but i HATE the red hulk series. I hate it all. its not jeph either. its the Marvel way of telling a "Suspenseful" story. it blows. and he just happens to be the one who worked on it. and now She Red-HULk?

if Rulk really is a mainstay, im just waiting for Zombie Ape Rulk. waiting with a gun, a note, and one bullet...
