And now you understand how Jeph Loeb writes... everything is a 80s action film... THAT'S why I love him.

Jeph Loeb Color Books = Tracing

Collector: Hey man. If somebody draws something
and then you draw the same thing right on top of it, not going out-side the designated original art, what do you call that!
    Little kid:I don't know. Tracing?
    Collector:(to Banky) See?
    Banky: It's not tracing.
    Collector: Oh, but it is.
Banky:(to Little Kid) Do you want your book signed or what?
Collector: Hey - don't get all testy with him
just because you have a problem with your station in life.
Banky: I'm secure with what I do.
Collector: Then say it - you're a tracer.

Hulk = Worst writing ever I think he is using the Family guy writers from South Park
Batman(/Superman)  believe it or not I have enjoyed his Batman stuff

Here's the thing about Jeph Loeb books. When you pick it up and read it you come away with a sudden sense of satisfaction. You think to yourself that somehow his books are shorter than others. They are extremely easy reads with not too many words to bog down the action. The pace and mood flow smoothly and you feel as if the story got cut off midway.

However, after further examination, you realize the many vast plot holes in the story. You notice that characters are doing things that they just shouldn't be able to do. You notice scenes with horrendous dialog. Villains who were once credible threats are jobbed. One punch battles become a norm. You think to yourself, "there is no way that (insert hero here) should be able to do that." That satisfactory feeling you once had becomes a feeling of utter dismay, searching for a logical explanation of what has just transpired. If only Jeph Loeb did some research, and learned the meaning of continuity, he could be one of the greatest ever.

I didn't think Superman/Batman was too bad either, but it wasn't much more to me than a bit of fun (if not sometimes confusing). Catwoman: When in Rome wasn't bad. I want to read the Long Halloween, because that looks good.

You haven't read Long Halloween? You might change your mind on jeph loeb after you read it ?

@CaioTrubat: Insightful. I kinda took it the same way. BUT he shouldn't be allowed to continue on his path of destruction. There comes a time when Marvel says enough is enough and sends him to do a C-list project or two to prove himself. Rulk's book was bad but people bought it. He should have been longer on garbage duty.

Bad! Very very bad! I swear he spends most of his time trying to think up new ways he can either piss on continuity or ways he can ruin once great series. Marvel needs to fire his talentless ass.

I used to stand up for Jeph Loeb but that was before EMH getting cancelled. Now I wish he was still retired.

@theblueangel93: You liked Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum?! What's wrong with you?

For me, I like his batman work with Tim Sale a lot, as well as his marvel color series, hush was ok, Superman/Batman was meh, and almost everything else sucks. Overall he is meh. His good is very good, but his bad is soooo bad.
