Everyone I talk too seems to hate him
Jeph Loeb
Person » Jeph Loeb is credited in 882 issues.
Jeph Loeb has been writing comics professionally since 1991, he writes for both television and film. His credits include Batman, Superman/Batman, Super-Girl, Daredevil, Smallville, Hulk, Ultimatum, and Captain America: White. He is currently Head of Television for Marvel.
I am the only person on earth who likes Jeph Loeb's writing?
I like him on Batman...
That's about it.
EDIT: The Color books aren't bad either. At least the Daredevil one, anyway. Still waiting on that Cap one.
He is very hit or missHe's done some of my favorite things and some of the things I've hated the most.
I love his work. I love seeing him in interviews too; he seems like such a sweet guy that I wanna adopt him as a new dad or uncle.
I like him.
it depends on several factors. How determined he is, what time of day, how much coffee he's had, DC/Marvel, if he's "Feeling the creative vibe" at the time.
You get the point. He can be a very good writer at times then go to a horrid one in an instant.
He's usually good on Batman. I also liked Hulk Gray and Daredevil Yellow. His run on Hulk was so-so. I do agree with everyone else that his work is mainly hit or miss. So overall, not a bad writer, but not one of my favorites.
i like his hulk (YES OMG WTF!!!)
but he can be a terrible writer, he has his ups and downs, but sadly, i think he has more downs
@coolguyr99: it's not really a terrible story, just a very flawed one that killed many heroes without remorse
When it comes to Loeb, he's hit/miss to me. Sometimes I like his writing, other times I don't. Just depends on the book and the characters, but I don't hate his writing and have enjoyed stories he's written.
And for the record, I actually like Red Hulk as a character, I just hate what Marvel is currently doing with him...

Is Ultimatum really as bad as people say it is?
It's only bad if you really enjoyed the early Ultimate Universe. At least that's how I feel about it.
Ultimatum was pretty bad. It started off well, but quickly went downhill. Some characters were very unlike themselves. And it kind of seemed like they wanted to wrap up every single Ultimate Universe story in a matter of a few issues. Too much happening and too many characters met their ends all at the same time.
There was some bad stuff in Ultimatum, but I also really liked some of it. I alslo think it was necessary, as the Ultimate Universe still felt to much like the 616 universe, and ultimatum really helped shake that up. I liked that it gave people an actual reason to hate mutants, which always feels kind of forced in the main series
Loeb would be one of those students in a class the teacher always thought was cheating.
He goes from B's to A's to suddenly drop to F's.
Seeing as how it was the Ultimate U that brought me back into reading comics after some years avoiding them, Yeah Loeb can take a long walk off a short pier so far as I am concerned. What is sad is I have read Superman for all seasons, a few of the Marvel color series and things before that and didn't have any hate for him. With Ultimatum and his massacre of 616 Wolverine, I will never, ever recommend him to anybody, no matter how much better he gets in the future. I won't contribute to his fan base when he may relapse at any time to the lows of his Ultimatum series.

He is an amazing writer. I hadn't read Hush or the other DC titles that he's done; however, I love Red Hulk. I know a lot of people didn't. For those of you who hate Rulk, it's probably because you stopped reading it or never read it to begin with. Rulk is a complex and intriguing character. Check out this indepth look. http://ifanboy.com/podcasts/ifanboy-episode-182-red-hulk/
The intricate, complex things that Jeph did with the book is amazing. He transforms Rulk from a complete jerk into a anti-hero which is shown more in Jeff Parker's run.
He's hit or miss for me .
