Jean DeWolff is a New York cop and ally of Spider-Man. Her brother, Brian DeWolff, was the troubled villain/vigilante known as "The Wraith". Edit

Origin

Jean DeWolff is a NYPD captain that grew up with a problematic childhood and is also an ally to Spider-Man.

She was killed by her ex-lover Stan Carter, also known as the Sin-Eater. When Spider-Man was investigating who killed her, he found some pictures of Jean and him as Spider-Man, implying that she had feelings for Peter.

Alternate Versions

Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610)

Jean is much the same as her mainstream counterpart, but here, her moral judgment is somewhat questionable. When she first encountered Spider-Man, she told her squad to not fire at him. Spider-Man is glad that he has now an ally in the police.

Little that Spider-Man knew that Jean is working with the Kingpin. She being friendly to Peter because she was collecting information from Spider-Man and the other superheroes.

She was later killed by the Punisher because of her connections with the Kingpin. On her wake, the Kingpin was seen crying. It is implied that Jean and the Kingpin's relationship was more that mutual and they had an affair.
