Jay first met Barry in Flash #123 (First series) "Flash of two worlds." This classic issue opened the door to the DC Multiverse as we learned that Jay lived on Earth 2 while Barry was on Earth 1. The gem grants its user divine abilities and was created by slaves via magic rituals. It has since then been passed down from generation to generation, with "Bloodwynd" being its current wielder.
