As a child, Jason Voorhees was mentally deficient, as well as physically deformed. His head was rather large, reminiscent of a mongoloid of sorts. His mother was his only friend; in fact, the only person who he really knew. Well, his mother got a job as a cook for Camp Crystal Lake while it was busy during the summer, and often times she would need to bring him with her whilst she worked, presumably because there was no one to watch Jason. No one ever explains what in the blazes happened to Elias, Jason's father. I suspect we'll never know the truth, in terms of canon.

While at the camp, Jason would try to make friends with the other kids, but as he was a freak in their eyes, they often teased him and threw him in the water, as the young boy could not swim. Deciding to prove them wrong one night, he snuck out at night in attempt to prove the naysayers wrong. Unfortunately, he proved the naysayers right, and drowned (well, thought to be his .)

After his mother went insane, it was revealed that Jason had in fact survived. At this point he was still human, but he was also enraged by his mother's , and so set out to butcher Alice. After returning home and finding that the camp was again being re-opened, Jason followed his mother's wishes, those who she felt had been responsible for his , until he was ed himself. Then, he came back, undead, unfeeling, and still following his mother's orders. Thus, the nightmare began...

visible scars: Over the years, Jason has picked up a number of gruesome injuries, including gunshot wounds, stabbings, burns, and a number of different injuries. Other times, he is portrayed as human looking enough, though almost all versions show his face as being extremely deformed and hideous, clearly a victim of physical retardation. In Jason X, it is revealed that he has the brain the size of a Dinosaur.

Powers and Abilities:

Jason voorhees is a magical powerhouse capable of performing astonishing feats of strength that is otherwise impossible for a human being, the reason why jason has been listed as magical is that some people say the lake in which jason drowned there was something down there that brought jason back to life as a child when he drowned. No one is clear how exactly he survived but it is assumed that it had a massive impact on jasons physical attributes. Jason is also very stealthy almost always avoiding detection

Feats of strength:

crushed a 6 ft mans skull with his bare hands in Friday the 13th the final chapter,barged through a reinforced wooden door in one turn turning the door into flying wooden shards,threw a 6ft 4 man 12 ft away jason takes Manhattan, survives a barrage of punches from a boxing elite teenager then punches his head clean off his body with one hit, in freddy vs jason he stabs a boy who's lying on his bed till he dies then folds the bed in half crushing him he also threw freddy at least 14 meters in front of him a far distance with one arm like a projectile.these are just some of the feats jason has performed during his career as the dreadful camp crystal lake killer.

Furthermore, along with most other Slashers, Jason will vary up his kills, using anything that happens to be lying around. The only thing he doesn't use is guns, at least not firearms. In Friday the 13th part 3, he does use a harpoon gun on one unfortunate victim.

Also, it is a common misconception that Jason kills with a Chainsaw. The only gas-powered device he has ever used was a motorized weed whacker of some sort.
