Hmmm I like it but a full leather jacket would have been better. Still this is pretty badass.

Redundant really wouldn't be the right word since the helmet is functional and protective and the hood is more for style so they aren't filling the same role. There is also the possibly he will be without his helmet at times and just have the mask he wears under the hood for when his helmet is cracked or w/e.

The mast and the hood together kind of remind me of like a hand ninja which is cool because of Jason's ties to the league of assassin's.

@teerack: Redundant would be the right word. The hood serves no purpose. The helmet fills the style quota just fine. Making the hood pretty superfluous.

That's like calling Batman's ear's redundant because they have no purpose. :P This design gives him an actual hood for aesthetic reasons the same way Batman has ears on his cowl.

@teerack: I disagree. The pointy ears are so he can call himself Batman. The insignia doesn't cut by its own self. Todd has his helm thing. That serves as his 'Red Hood'. The second one is superfluous. He already had one of the better costumes without it.

@hit_monkey: The helmet was never the hood. The name Red Hood doesn't refer to his head gear if you didn't know. He IS a Hood. He is from the ghetto of gotham and acts like he owns the place as well as being a thug some times, so he is a hood in the personal sense. When the Joker first took up the name Red Hood he was pretty much saying he was taking claim over the city, and when Jason came back that was the same thing he was trying to do and was part of why he adopted the name.

He could honestly call himself the red hood with nothing more then just a red shirt on and no mask at all. This is just taking his name and being literal with it, akin to Batman's ears.

@teerack: I was under the assumption that the moniker 'Red Hood' had two points of reference to the characters that use(ed) it. One being a red mask/helmet/hood thing they wear and the other, is what you just explained at serious length (btw cool story, bro). Though, I will say. Todd used the name 'Red Hood' when he was acting like a psychotic vigilante version of Batman. During his white cape, red pill head-helmet and sidekick days.

My point? Not very 'hood-like' in the way you were describing. Actually, when I think about it. The same could be said about him in Battle for the Cowl..

@hit_monkey: So you really just didn't understand Jason's motives back when he was acting out as a bad guy? Crazy I felt like they were painfully clear about getting their points across with where he was coming from, some times too much so. The helmet doesn't matter. there were a bunch of times where the only red on Jason's outfit was just a red eye mask. If you can't see past the superficial aspects of the character then there really isn't anything for us to talk about.

I agreed with what you said about the 'Hood' in 'Red Hood' meaning 'hood' as in 'street-hood' in my previous post. It is as you said, fairly on the nose. I just thought that his big red helmet might also having something to do with it too. Excuse me if that makes me superficial?

Here's something. If your not actually going to read what I have to say in this discussion we're having. Then call me on things because you don't actually know what I've just said to you. Then maybe there really isn't anything for us to talk about?

I was also raising a thing that Todd was Red Hood and did not behave like a 'hood' in the way that you described at one point. You know, Morison's run. Todd is competing at being Gotham's Batman with Batman. Only killing instead. Wearing a Red Hood themed old school superhero costume. With sidekick on toe.

Nothing about that says 'the street-hood'. Yet he was still called 'Red Hood'. Sorry, am I being superficial again?

Roy's suit is from now on quite very much awesome.

As for Jason, the new outfit ain't too bad, but it still feels too batman'ish (the bat-symbol and blades on gloves).

Meh. Not digging the look, to be honest.

Very un-Redhoody, and what's so practical about actually wearing an actual red hood on top of the mask?

@nathaniel_christopher: Speaking of impractical, not beeing able to see or tilt your head is a thing as well.

Exactly, both are trash and make little sense for Jason, a freaking martial artist, to use.

But at least the new suit doesn't look like a spandex.

Least the old one doesn't have useless features that Jason will never in a million years use.

Love the new design, and is obvious that si being influenced both by the Arkham Knight's design and the trend brought by Batgirl. Jason's suit is essentially the same as the N52 just fitted to be more "realistic". The skintight body suit is gone and now you can pinpoint the different elements on his suit: camo pants, sleeveless hoodie, shirt.

All in all is a nice change for him and as someone mentioned before, it really gives Jason a ninja-like vibe.

Shame that the colorists messed up the color scheme though.

Yeah, a big factor on the series is gonna be the colorist. The guys handling the preview didn't do a good job
