Jason Todd was the second Robin, until he was brutally murdered by the Joker. After he was resurrected, Jason learned Batman didn't avenge his death. Anguished and seeking vengeance, he initially turned against his mentor and father figure and took on the Clown Prince's former identity: the Red Hood. He eventually returned to the Bat-Family and assembled a team of anti-heroes known as the Outlaws.
I like the idea of Jason having somebody still on the "in" with the Bat Family that he's cool with, but I was hoping that'd be Cass. Unfortunately no Cass.
Dick makes sense for that role, however, because he gets along with everybody. That's who he is. Tim would think Jason was psychotic, Damian would think he was a failure, Alfred would probably be cool with him, Bruce would be complicated.
The relationship that Jason has with Dick has always sort of been that Dick wanted Jason to get back into the family and reform himself, eventually evolved into dislike (Countdown, ugh) and then went back into the first during BFTC.

Well Jason always respected Tim, since they have a match and he kicked his ass, you notice he respect the fact Tim was brave enough to keep figthing even if he knew he was going to lose.
Also Tim decide to sue the Batman suit before Dick, he respect the fact Tim wasnt afraid of Batman.

Admittedly, I know less about Jason than the other two, I see it like this: As noted, Tim seems to be Jason's in guy. I think Tim can better understand Jason's point of view on things. The Red Robin series showed that Tim was often struggling with the idea of having to kill someone if necessary, and the idea has been brought up again with the Culling in Teen Titans. While Tim ended up on the better side of it, he can see where Jason comes from with it. With Jason and Dick, I think they generally respect one another, but Dick is much more like Bruce in his mentality, and finds it hard to look past Jason's methods. Jason knows this, so it creates a sort of friction between the two of them.

If you look at the Batman and Robin #12 preview it looks like they are all working together yet again. So with The Night of Owls and now B&R; #12 I'm starting to think Jason is going to be back in the Bat Family inner circle pretty soon.

He's already kinda getting back in with the family, why else would he choose to wear the Bat symbol?
He isn't quite an agent of the Bat, but he's almost an unofficial member of the family these days given how he doesn't really kill unless he sees no other option.
They just toned down the bat family and made them more like a real life dysfunctional family. Jason hates Dick because hes considered the top student and son of bruce so there is always that. Jason can probably relate with Tim over being in Grayson's shadow their entire career. I dont think there is honestly much bad blood between them all anymore or Jay Todd wouldnt always be teaming up with his brothers to save his adopted fathers ass.
@serpent222: there is friction between Jason and Dick, but i dont see much respect. Jason doesnt care much for him, but shows alot of respect to Tim. Damian was a asshole to him and Jason didnt care because he was a little brat, but in the end pretty much told him, i know where you sleep.
I want to see these guys bump into each other more on patrol.
And I want to see Damian and Jason get some quality time, maybe Jason can beat some sense into him, lol.

He -did-. He's on this 'I'm gonna pwn all the other Robins so Batman will think I'm the best" thing. But he did catch him by surprise, and Jason didn't really put up a fight (he took a punch and didn't bother getting back up).
Jason hates Dick, but he doesn't hate him for anything Dick ever did to him. He hates Dick because he's the first son in the family. Its really better to say that he resents Dick and is jealous of him. I think that could open up some interesting story opportunities if they ever cross paths in Nightwing's book.
I think it is more of a daddy issue than a general problem Jason has with Dick.
No matter what I think Jason will always see Dick as Bruce's favourite. Dick was the first student, the first son as it were, and when Dick moved on he was replaced with Jason. Replacements are ALWAYS compared to their counterparts. Just at work people in the office compare the new PA to the old PA and sometimes right to her face; that must not be comfortable or particularly nice. Perhaps Jason felt some of that in his youth growing up as Robin?
& maybe, just maybe, Jason believes that if The Joker killed Dick then there would be no doubt in Bruce's mind to kill Joker. In the Red Hood comics Nightwing is present and they are still getting along, still watching each other's backs...
I don't think Jason will ever like Dick but I doubt he'd ever want to kill him either.
