Jason Todd was the second Robin, until he was brutally murdered by the Joker. After he was resurrected, Jason learned Batman didn't avenge his death. Anguished and seeking vengeance, he initially turned against his mentor and father figure and took on the Clown Prince's former identity: the Red Hood. He eventually returned to the Bat-Family and assembled a team of anti-heroes known as the Outlaws.
Well it might not have been possible to ease Tim Drake into the mythos. And I love what Jason has become, maybe not the pure villianous stuff from before the reboot, but the death and return issue and vendetta make him an awesome, troubled, anti-hero. That makes me ok with him dying. Had I not known what how awesome he would become, I'd choose not die.
You know, I like Red Hood, but keeping him dead would've given a better feeling to Bat Universe. Darker, realistic.
But I'd probably vote for him to live, but have his personality changed after the tragedy. Then he'd become Red Hood, Tim would be the new Robin, everyone would be happy.
Plus, that version that I just created pleases me more than the wtf crap they invented to make him come back to life. And perhaps he'd be a less annoying character. (I like his twisted personality, it's just that sometimes he's kind of a drama queen who really can't get over things ¬¬)
The curious side in me tells me live, but I still choose die. Without Jason's death, I wouldn't have Tim Drake, or Jason's Red Hood persona, and that's too much of a loss for me.
