Originally starting out as a joke comic for the release of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 on the SEGA Genesis, the series shortly became more serious and complex with the characters and stories, many of which are adaptions to most of Sonic's biggest hits in games. The series holds the Guinness Record for the longest comic book series based on a video-game.
