Jan Duursema is an artist who has produced illustrations for many of the Star Wars comics. She was also the creator of Denin and Vila from Naldar, the Jedi Twi’lek Aayla Secura, and the “ Jedi with a gun,” Quinlan Vos. She also often works with John Ostrander.
She is married to fellow artist Tom Mandrake, who, along with her, did the art for the Marvel Star Wars 92: The Dream comics. She was the basis for the character Ur-Sema Du. Jan and Tom now have a son, Jack Moses Mandrake, born October 4, 1995, and a daughter, Sian Mandrake, who is 17.
