For those of you who actually saw Cloverfield at the movies, did you spot the kick ass Star Trek trailer at the beginning of the movie?

for those who didn't...

i know it's a bit dark, but for those of you who can't make it out...

it's definitely the Enterprise, pre Kirk command Enterprise as well...

The story will focus on the earliest adventures of James T. Kirk and Spock, and will also feature appearances by the main characters from the original series.

the official site is here...

not that there's much there at the moment lol

but i for one can't wait to actually see a good Star Trek movie after the abominations that were Insurrection and Nemesis...

from what the trailer shows, no Cliché’s , a dark future poised just after First Contact... i can't frickin' wait!!!

confirmed cast list so far is...

Chris Pine as James T. Kirk

Zachary Quinto as Young Spock

Karl Urban as Leonard McCoy

Simon Pegg as Montgomery Scott

Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov

Zoë Saldaña as Uhura

John Cho as Hikaru Sulu

Eric Bana as Nero (the villain of the film)

Clifton Collins, Jr. as General Ayel (Nero's henchman)

Leonard Nimoy as Old Spock

Bruce Greenwood as Christopher Pike

Chris Hemsworth as George Samuel Kirk Senior, Kirk's father

Jennifer Morrison as Winona Kirk, Kirk's mother

Ben Cross as Sarek, Spock's father

Winona Ryder as Amanda Grayson, Spock's mother

Rachel Nichols as Orion female

Tyler Perry as head of Starfleet Academy

and yes, check the trailer again, it is Spock's voice (Leonard Nimoy) that spoke the famous line lol

more updates as they come across my desk :D

I did use to like Star Trek movies. I haven't paid much attention to the last two or three but I might have to go out and watch this one.

I heard they didn't even ask Shattner to be apart of this.

Gambler says:

"I heard they didn't even ask Shattner to be apart of this."

quote from

"While William Shatner has indicated that he will not be appearing in the film, Abrams said in July 2007 that the production was "desperately trying to figure out a way to put him in" but that to "shove him in...would be a disaster." Original Sulu George Takei has also expressed hope he will be in the film."

I'm not to excited about this. The quality of the movies has been decreasing since Fianl contact, and having other people play Kirk, Spock, and all of them is going to be a problem, since they might seem a bit strange (such as Scizon did in Nemesis, as well, as Captain Picard's brother and Nephew in Generations). Do to my die hard trekkiness, though, i will be one of the (if not the) first in line in my town to see it.
