Is Captain Kirk Wearing Pajamas?

Let me start by saying that I am excited about seeing the new Star Trek movie.  I can't remember the last time I could actually say that.  I would see them but it was never something I looked forward to weeks in advanced.  I would just see them because they were there (in theaters).

We've already seen a lot of images and clips for the movie.  A recent image keeps coming back to mind.  I get that Star Trek happens "in the future" and styles change and all, but what is Captain Kirk wearing here?

This doesn't look like your standard Starfleet issued uniform.  The material looks too...comfy.  Was he awoken in the middle of the night and had to run to the captain's chair?

Maybe it's just me.  It just looks like a really warm and comfortable outfit for those cold nights.

Kinda looks itchy to me....

Gee you would think in the future they would have better fashion sense! Those Pj's or whatever they are just suck!
Note the cuffs. looks like something a small child would wear! Ewww.
The color is atrocious! Please tell that's not a one-piece! :O

Oh but I am look forward to the movie no matter what they wear. Mostly for Mr Spok! <3

It totally looks like a one-piece.  I wouldn't be surprsed if there were those footsie/booties thing at his feet.

And you're right, those sleeves do look weird, which may be in part what is making me think of Starfleet pajamas.

That Uniform kind of looks Funny to Me... it looks like something you would wear to a Slumber Party

Hey G-Man.... I think your right.... I don't see any buttons on his pajamas.
Look down the middle.

It can't be... Oh God I think it is!!! The horror!!

IT's VELCRO!!! *Faints*

I get it is supposed to be "young" Star Trek,  But, please, give the man some Buttons and a Zipper for the love of Peter Petrelli! He looks old enough to handle that much. They gave him a Star Ship right? ....must be a pain when he need to use the bathroom...

Yeah it does look pretty stupid. Looks like he'll only be wearing it during the Kobayashi Maru training sequence though, luckily...

the only trekie suit that ever looked OK was the red one they wore in 2nd movie with Kawn or what ever. all the others are just trekie and yeah thats bad enough!

so I am still confused does go from like Academy to CAPTAIN just like that? I mean no other naval ranks? ensign Lt. Lt commander commander and then................CAPTAIN.

I dont get it he just sits in the chair?

I remember a sequence in one of the trailers where it looks like the crew is turning to him to take the captain's place (who probably died from some blue alien std).  So, most likely, no he does not go straight to captain.

Anyone else remember which trailer that was?

This guy is the WORST Kirk pick EVER.

Everyone else suits their role except this jer&*ff.

I see what you're getting at here G-Man and I'll just have to come out and say it - I want me some Star Trek pajamas too. Those things look awesome and comfy. For movie merchandise forget the figurines this time around boys - we want us some pjs. Make it happen.

You know if they marketed them, kids (and probably some adults) would love to own a pair.  They always make the dumbest marketing decisions.  This is something that would definitely sell.

It does not look like the uniforms I have seen in the rest of the pictures and clips so I am going to go with the Star Trek pajamas that G-Man suggested.

I'd get those pajamas...if they are priced reasonably.
