    Batman: Year One

    Year One is written by the great Frank Miller and drawn by the talented David Mazzucchelli and was originally released in 1988. This is a great place to start reading Jim Gordon stories. Although the title may throw you off into thinking it's a story about Bruce Wayne becoming Batman, in reality its a deep tale about the contrasting lives of Gordon and Bruce in their first few weeks back at Gotham.
