Things do not look good for the third installment!
Well I for one am very disappointed in this news. It seems that the third installment of James Bond may be put on hold for the time being since MGM may not have the funds to develop the film, leaving the release of a third film "uncertain."
"Well, our timeline's a little up in the air what with the situation at MGM, so we have to be flexible. We just don't know enough about the situation to comment, but we know it's uncertain."
According to the report picked up by Firstshowing, the third Bond film, 'Bond 23,' already had a screenwriter in Peter Morgan, who confirmed that the film would be put on hold for the time being even though the script has been completed.
"Well… we've hired the writers and we've been working with them but it's just too early to say anything," he said. "You know, often at this stage, I find myself saying, 'Oh, we're gonna do this and that', then six months from now you'll say, 'That isn't in the film at all - you told me it was…' I think we're at the stage where a lot of ideas are floating around that sound very good, but whether they make the final cut, who knows?"
Rats! This really is one movie I am looking forward to! I think Daniel Craig is by far one of the absolute best actors ever to play the role of James Bond, and I would be very sorry to see him be forced to walk away from the franchise. Would you be disappointed if there was no third 'Bond' film?
