Jakeem is an African-American teenager from Keystone City, who came to possess the genie-powered Thunderbolt pen which once belonged to Johnny Thunder. When an evil genie came to Earth, Jakeem was able, with Captain Marvel's help, to merge his genie with the evil one. The now fused genie is summoned by saying the words "So Cûl" (pronounced "so cool"). It is then when he joined the renowned Justice Society of America, which he became reluctant of.

Background

Jakeem Johnny is from Keystone City. His mother left his father when she was pregnant. His mom died of cancer and he had to be orphaned to his Aunt Lashawn. his father doesnt know of him, because Jakeem's mother didnt tell him she was pregnant. To survive where he grew up at he became a protective cursing boy.

Gains The Thunderbolt

Jakeem got the thunderbolt from Johnny Thunder. Johnny started to loose control of the thunderbolt so he put it in a pen. Johnny was old and had alziehmers, so he forgot where thunderbolt was and gave Jakeem the pen which thunderbolt was encased.

Attack From The Fith Dimension

A genie from the fifth dimension was given freedom by Triumph, who was given younger age and his powers back. The genie then started terroizing a city. This is when Jakeem finds out the pen has a genie in it. But Jakeem thinks the genie is the devil. Jakeem with the Justice Soicety of America and Justice League figures out the genie is a fith dimensional being. And it is controlled by saying its name Yz which backwards is pronounced so cool. Captain Marvel helped with merging the two genies together which made a purple thunderbolt. This is controlled by saying so cool(Yz).

Jakeem then joins the JSA not wanting to but then comes around. Grundy being affected by Jokers laughing gas attacks the JSA headquarters but the only ones there is Stargirl and Jakeem. Grundy steals Jakeem's pen with the thunderbolt. Here Jakeem tells stargirl he wants to get the pen back not because its the thunderbolt but because its his friend. In this fight Jakeem wishes that everything that was messed up be fixed, not knowing close to him was Johnny Thunder who then was taken possession by Ultra-Humanite. Being the first one with the thunderbolt he has more control over him and takes him back. Ultra-Humanite uses the thunderbolt to grab all telepaths and control the worlds mind. Jakeem is one of the ones not affected. Jakeem soons take the thunderbolt backs but by the life of Johnny Thunder. Jakeem then merges Johnny and the thunderbolt together, but tells none but the JSA of this.

Jakeem stays at home on the weekdays to go to school. With the thunderbolts help Jakeem meets his biological father. He speaks to him without telling him he's his son. They get along very well until Jakeem sees his father started a family. Jakeem fears he will destroy their family so he doesnt tell him.

Infinite Crisis

During the time where the Spectre goes mad and wants to destroy all magic he puts Jakeem into the pen into the 5th dimension. Here Qwsp controls Jakeem into destroying the 5th dimension. The thunderbolt gets the JSA and some of his friends to help. From their help Jakeem is cured.

Tenth Age of Magic

In this new age of magic, whatever Jakeem whishes for it is taken from somewhere else. such as a fire happened and he wished for all the homes to be reconstructed. somewhere across the world the exact number of houses was destroyed and the exact number of people were left homeless.

Powers

Jakeem is the possesor of the Thunderbolt pen, which is the home of a genie. With Thunderbolt as his partner, Jakeem is able to make any number of wishes, which causes much mayhem because of mispronounciations and misunderstandings between the two. There is no limitations to the thunderbolts power in this dimension.
