History

FBI Agent Jake Farber first appeared on assignment for the Commission on Superhuman Activities. He and his partner, Elwood McNulty, were supposed to bring Captain America before the Commission in order that he would then be compelled to work for them directly as an agent of the American government.

Subsequently, the Commission assigned Farber and McNulty to find John Walker to them. Walker- then operating under the identity of the Super-Patriot, had been selected by the Commission to take on the mantle of Captain America in the wake of Steve Rogers' resignation.

Still later, Farber and McNulty investigated the Inferno Incident that had struck New York City. After interviewing several citizens of the city, as well as various members of New York's superhuman population, the duo concluded that the whole incident was due to mass hallucination brought on by a hypno-ray.
