Hawksmoor met Midnighter and Apollo during his time at Stormwatch. When The Authority formed up they became teammates.
During World War II, Steve Rogers volunteered to receive the experimental Super-Soldier Serum. Enhanced to the pinnacle of human physical potential and armed with an unbreakable shield, he became Captain America. After a failed mission left him encased in ice for decades, he was found and revived by the Avengers, later joining their ranks and eventually becoming the team's leader.
When Jack was a member of Stormwatch, he fought a group called The Changers. One of the members of that group went by the name Engineer. In the fight that broke out between the two groups, the Engineer died, but he sent his nanotechnology to a woman named Angela Spica. Winter and Hawksmoor both worked for Stormwatch under Henry Bendix. Winter is one of the few superheroes that Jack Hawksmoor really likes and respects. When The Authority had to trap Winter in the sun, Jack was devastated.
