Itachi Uchiha is the older brother of Sasuke Uchiha. He is the son of Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha. He was of the Uchiha Clan of Konohagakure and eventually became a Konoha missing-nin. He was a member of the Akatsuki. He was the best friend of Shisui Uchiha. He was considered a prodigy by the Uchiha due to his talents and intelligence.
Itachi kinda got lucky against Orochimaru. He saw a severely weakened Itachi and believed that his victory was all but assured, he didn't even believe Susanoo's sword posed a threat to him... until it was too late.

I love his emotionless facial expression, like he didnt even notice Orochimaru. For all we know, he didnt at all, as he was blind. If nothing else, Itachi can be complimented on his sheer lack of emotion when fighting
People toss it into the same category as DBZ, but it's nothign loike it at all. It has it's fair share of stereotypes, but no other stereotype has been presented as well as their's are, and the story delves a lot deeper than I ever expected a Shonen Jump manga to, so yeah I reccomend reading Naruto from the beginning, once it hits Shippuden, it gets really good
Anyway, just dropping in to say that Itachi is awesome, even to someone who doesn't know the story of Naruto and only read a few of the mangas. But then I have a soft spot for characters who are misunderstood. But yeah, if he was a more prominent character I might even have got into the manga. But theres no chance of that now that he's dead.

Pawn is a bit harsh. Id say he is more of a soldier. Someone who is willing to follow orders no matter how horrific for the greater good. A pawn implies that he is not willing to do what is asked of him, but is manipulated into it. Anyway, as I read it he had plans of his own. Its only a pity that Sasuke is such a useless prat or they would have worked out fine.
Yeah, I think he was a lot more than that though, despite willing to throw his life away like it didnt matter, he was also more than any other character in the series was for someone, when you think about it. He did everything he could to make his brother the strongest he could be despite killing his family, and for seemingly no real reason
