A 1940's title from William Wise/Visual Editions, offered wholesome and generally accurate pictorial biographies of famous figures from history. Each issue featured four to six literate, well-illustrated stories about characters from all walks of life.Characters ranged from industrialists like Henry Ford to pirates like Captain Kidd to explorers, adventurers, and scientists. William Wise took its educational mission seriously and strove for factual accuracy and entertainment in equal measure, to inspire children to strive for greatness in their own lives.
