He's an awesome actore. So I think he'll do a great job, unless they make the movie cartoony, like the original batmans, then it'll suck.

Downey is an amazing actor, so I have total faith in him. I'm sure he'll nail the playboy parts and if alcoholism is a part of the plot (although I doubt it will be) he certainly will be able to do that well. I'm not the biggest Iron Man fan, but I'm still looking forward to the movie thanks to Downey being casted.

yeah, he kinda pissed me off in Civil War, but I'm looking foward to this movie. He's going to pull stark off well.

They couldn't pick anyone better. Robert Downey is practically life immitating art with this one. Plus he's an amazing actor. As long as they don't over-cgi the thing I can't see how they can fail.

At first I thought not (had my hopes dashed in fact), but now I'm starting to think otherwise. He's a good actor and I think Favreau has a good feel as to what the film should be, surprisingly.

As for the film relying too much on CGI, I don't think that's going to happen. Favreau is trying to go as practically as possible (the Mach I or the original grey armor is already done...practically), as he feels that will keep the project grounded as close to realism as possible.

I dont see how he will screw up this role hes always a very good actor even in films that have sucked, Witch hopfully He will be great and the movie will too.

I agreed that Downey would be good for the role, especially if he gets to be in character during the Druken Tony scenes.

Whens the iron man movie come out? coz I reakon it would be worth a gander. All ive heard is rumours but no actual dates. I reakon that RDjr as stark is compleatly a subjective view point.. it all depends if he pulls the character off in the film... after its out THEN we can pass judgement.

no i didnt get that was what you meant at first. i see exactly what youre saying. i dont think it will be that bad though. if he had been on tv or had played the same character in a whole bunch of movies than i'd agree. it would be hard to have one of the james bonds or charlie sheen (since he's in that two and a half men, though no one really watches that do they?) or someone you knew as one character was doing it then it would be hard to see them as tony instead of that character you usually see them as. but i dont think downey's like that.
