Iron Man
Character » Iron Man appears in 11210 issues.
Tony Stark was the arrogant son of wealthy, weapon manufacturer Howard Stark. Tony cared only about himself, but he would have a change of heart after he was kidnapped by terrorists and gravely injured. Pressured to create a weapon of mass destruction, Stark instead created a suit of armor powerful enough for him to escape. Tony used his vast resources and intellect to make the world a better place as The Invincible Iron Man. Stark's super hero identity led him to become a founding member of the Avengers.
Ironman 3 Who would you like to be the Villain?
I'm glad to see that the Mandarin is so popular.

... So far they haven't gone with magic or meta-humans in any of the Iron Man movies, bu since it ties with Thor, Avengers, Hulk etc., there shouldn't be a problem.
I totally agree. I really like this argument. It seems like Iron Man's arch-enemy is being phased out because of his magical aspect of his character. I feared that they were trying to phase out of his character to change Iron Man's image because they no longer don't want magic in the Iron Man portion of the Marvel universe.

....MODOK should never be in a movie. Ever, lol.
Why not? I think he could be done tastefully.

said:Thank you for defining Mandarin, I was about to do it myself. Truth is I couldn't tell if he was joking or not. For the record the name of the orange is Mandarin orange, not mandarin.@Inevitable: A few defnitions of Mandarin:
- a member of an elite intellectual or cultural group
- any high government official or bureaucrat
- a high public official of imperial China
- the dialect of Chinese spoken in Beijing and adopted as the official language for all of China
When imagine the Manadrin I think of Lo Pan from the 1980's movie "Big Trouble in Little China".
I also like what they've done in the Iron Man Armored Adventures cartoon.
Mixing the best of both worlds would make it perfect.
I'm pro-MODOK, these days, but I don't think he can be a solo villain in an Iron Man film, let alone any film. Also, I don't think he'd be taken seriously by the general public.
Our big-headed villains never get any love on the big screen:
-Galactus was a cloud
-Hector Hammond screamed like a girl and was barely a threat to anyone
I would love to see a take on the Mandarin but if that doesn't fit with the realistic feel that the movies are going with then Madam Masque is a close second choice.
@MrUnknown: I agree with you, the IM movie universe has set up such a realistic tone that it wouldn't feel right if they put mandarin in there with magical powered rings. I would really want the mandarin being the villian of the 3rd and the two previous movies basically hinted towards the mandarin with the whole ten rings terrorist group and stuff. I think they should find a way to potray mandarin in a more realistic way like they did in the director of shield comics. Maybe make the rings repulsor powered or something
I don't know about detroit steel... if they were to do another armored villain i would prefer to see titanium man or crimson dynamo, But im definately rooting for mandarin
mandarin
and they are not magical rings they are alien rings so that could work I mean in the avengers there is going to be an asgardian and most probably aliens (the skrulls)
and maybe fin fang foom as a robot dragon or an alien dragon that was on the same ship as the ten rings that listens to the mandarin (an alien would be better because who is crazy enough to waste so much money on a robot dragon) or not.
or ghost
@Loki9876: i agree, i would love to see the mandarin portrayed as knauf did in director of shieldI agree
Mandarin would be at the highest ideal for the arch-foe against Iron Man as a Chinese nationalist and aforementioned leader of "The Ten Rings" from the first Iron Man movie. Mandarin would be revealed a prior Chinese war criminal who uncovered an extradimensional alien ship within caves of China empowering him with a slow age factor and a desire to rule the world under the prior tyranny of his ancestor Genghis Khan. A man who rules with superstition and fear of magics.
Fixer, Firepower, Firebrand, Drexel Cord, Controller, Titanium Man, the Gremlin, Sunset Bain, Machinesmith, the Head Men, Boomerang, Blizzard, and best Ghost.
- Iron Man and War Machine Vs Titanium Man and a real Crimson Dynamo
- Mandarin shown just as the puppet master orchestrating the events to gauge Stark before confronting him directly if necessary.
