Iron Man: The Inevitable # 4 - The Inevitable, Book 4: Ordinary People

As one hero enters into the final showdown with the Ghost, another takes a final journey inside the mind of the Living Laser! The discoveries made there are more terrifying than anyone ever imagined! A classic Iron Man foe returns in a BIG way -- and he’s not exactly thrilled to be back!

Dr. Dillon once again engages in Intrabeam Particle Communication in an attempt to reach Arthur Parks. Her hope is to began his rehabilitation. This time, she succeeds in making contact with him and begins a dialogue with a part of Arthur's subconsious mind. Elsewhere at Stark International, Iron Man confronts the Ghost who, under orders from Spymaster, broke into the plant to steal the Living Laser (Arthur Parks).

Dr. Dillon seemingly makes progress with Arthur, coaxing him out of hiding and forcing him to confront uncomfortable aspects of himself and his past obsession with Iron Man. Meanwhile, the battle between the Ghost and Iron Man ensues. In an attempt to get away, Ghost attacks with explosives and seriously damages the building's power source. The damage causes disorientating feedback in the Particle Grid, and Dr. Dillon starts to loose focus.

Ghost contacts Spymaster during the fight, pleading for an escape route, but he is refused. He later manages to get out however while Iron Man is distracted by a meltdown in the plant caused by all of the destruction. To counter the emergency, Iron Man uses his armor to restore power to the system, inadvertantly energizing the Living Laser. Once powered, Arthur Parks kills Dr. Dillon and breaks free of his stasis...
