Iron Man: Rapture
Iron Man: Rapture
Note: This is an overall review of the miniseries.
Overview
Tony Stark becomes possessed by the unknown and intelligent A.I. and it's up to Pepper Potts and James Rhodes in saving him.
The Good
What can I say about this series? It was such a great Iron Man story. You have seen how Tony becomes obsessed creating new technology or upgrading it. It shows that Tony never gives up on what's he doing. It sort of looks like Tony has been succumbed to his alcohol in the past years. But this technology addiction proves Tony's character very well. The art was amazing which makes you think that you were watching an Iron Man movie. Pepper Potts was a great supporting character and love interest who wanted a normal time with Tony every once and a while. James was a good friend and you can see how he wanted to save Tony badly after being possessed by the rogue A.I.
The Bad
Ok. I don't want to give any spoilers of what happened in the end of the fourth issue. For those who have read this miniseries, you know what I'm talking about. First of all, I was surprised and shocked that it happened to one of my favorite characters. I wouldn't want to reveal it for people who haven't read it. But you have to read this series and find out. But you could kinda guess of what this favorite character which I'm referring to. That was really unexpected.
The Verdict
Overall, if you're an Iron Man fan who watched his live-action movies and read Matt Fraction's series, you should check out this one. Because it is well-written and well-drawn the way you wouldn't even expect in the world of Iron Man. I give this mini 5 raptures out of 5.
