Iron Man vs. Iron Men
Synopsis
A large battle rages and brings unlikely allies together to defeat a common foe. These comics are getting predictable! The only twist to this plot was Iron Odin who came to save the day.The Good
The art is on par with what you'd expect. However, Tony is in a different suit which I'm not used to. He has a 'V' where his eyebrows are and sometimes this bugged me. I know that Tony has many suits and one for each occasion. I guess I'm just more used to the most commonly portrayed suit on television and the movies. The storyline was alright and I could describe it as mediocre. It was enough to keep you going but not much else. This is the last issue of the current arc and I wonder where it will go from here. The comment by Dr. Doom at the end I guess may give a hint but that may not be enough to make me want to stick around.
The Bad
The storyline. Can it be both good AND bad? Well let me explain. As I mentioned previously, it was enough to keep you going but not much else...its the "not much else" which bothers me. I wish it were more engrossing and making me want to read faster to get to the end of the book. This arc is over and I doubt I'll continue to keep this book on my pull list. This is a good jumping off point if you're looking for an excuse. Plus, this arc steals from the famous Iron Man storyline "Armor Wars" and I continually compared to the concepts.Another thing which bugged me was the new "Svarog", "he" looked like Odin in an Iron Man suit and was "driven" by Dragana (a woman)--not being sexist here. All these elements just bugged me when all put together. What's wrong with Svarog being a woman? Why put a bearded man's head on the suit? Why draw him to look like Odin? Not good things...
