Fav Armor

Which is yours? I think mine has to be the neo-classic armor Iron Man wore after the first armor wars. When I started reading the series (during the John Byrne/John Romita Jr. run) that was his armor, so it formed my first impression of the character and I've loved it ever since. I also really like the silver centurion armor (despite how dated it looks now), the post-extremis armor, and the ablative armor he wore just prior to that.

The problem with specific armors is that different artists had their own take on the armor and there are many discrepencies between issues and armor changes.

Despite this, a couple of my favorites would have to be the Hypervelocity armor, War Machine, Extremis and the Hulk Buster MK II from WWH.

Why did you like Silver Centurion? It has to be my least favorite mostly because it ditches the gold/red colors.

It's funny that you dislike that armor because it doesn't have gold (although it still had red), yet you like the war machine armor which doesn't have either of those two traditional colors. I do agree about the importance of the color scheme however, but I still liked the design of the silver centurion armor nonetheless. I think it fit that time in the 80's really well, even if it looks dated now.

You raise a good point about the differences in the depiction of armors by different artists, but I think that was less of an issue in the past than it has been lately.

Probably to distinguish Iron Man from War Machine and give it a cold, steely appearence as opposed to something bright and colorful.

hulkbuster:it reminds us how cocky stark is to have thought he could take the hulk on hand to hand,he should have just given it the fire power to take down iraq and stayed his distance.

Iron Man was the only people in Heroes Reborn who didn't look completely horrible.

i like the sleek look of the extremis armor it's not all big and bulky it looks really cool :)

Although I am rather partial to the Centurion armor, it may not look as awesome as the newest stuff, but its different. I also like the Ultimate verison.
