iridium's Iron Man #27 - Rings of the Mandarins Chapter V review

Gives "Jump the shark" a whole new meaning.

I think we can all agree that Matt Fraction's run of Iron Man was one of, if not the, worst "written" series in the history of language (By God his Thor was a close second in terms of sheer, unadulterated stupidity). With that in mind, this needs to take the throne for the single worst issue.

What Kieron Gillen just wrote ... is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in his rambling, incoherent issue was he even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone who picked up this issue is now dumber for having read it. I award him no points, and may God have mercy on his soul...

The plot is thinner than an aging English professor's hair.

The dialogue is weaker than American coffee.

And ... Omega Supreme. I don't care what irrelevant name they gave it in the issue, they worked Omega Supreme into the issue. And not in a "Ha, that's cool" kind of way. But a completely bewildering and unexplained fashion which will continue to be pointed to and laughed at for decades to come. And rightfully so.
