SPOILER FREE REVIEW.OK so a lot of people saw Iron Man and a lot of people liked in fact it actually ended up making a ton of money at the box office which was well half the reason that they were able to come back and be able to make a second one and I gotta tell ya this movie is great. First of this review won't spoil anything you don't already know from the trailers. Ok so Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow return to their roles and they do a great job possibly better than the 1st , Don chea...

    Same ol' story 0

It's that time of year again when all the "summer" blockbusters are coming out (apparently summer begins in May for those crazy folks in Hollywood). The first Iron Man had some issues. Whilst it was a pretty decent film, it fell apart in the third act, relying way too heavily on "big robots go SMASH!" despite looking promising throughout the rest. Did Iron Man 2 have the same problems? In a nutshell: yes. The film starts out in Russia, where Mickey Rourke is basically up to no good. After a brie...

Reviewed as a Movie and a Comic Book Movie 3

In the US the long awaited Iron Man 2 movie is premiering tomorrow May 7th, but the International premiere for the movie was last week and since I don't live in the US (just close) I went to watch the movie. So for all of you who haven't seen it and are waiting to anxiously here's a review of what you'll get (I promise I won't spoil anything) SynopsisIn Iron Man Suitcase Suit "Iron Man 2," the world is aware that billionaire inventor Tony Stark is ...

    Rwaaaaarrrrrrr! 2

This'll be a bit of a deviation from the usual review set-up, not so linear. I'm on the fence in a lot of ways about Iron Man 2. From my rating, you can clearly see that I enjoyed it, but it is difficult for me to determine if this sequel surpasses the original. It does and it doesn't.  At the end of the first film, we are left with a live and public announcement from Tony Stark that he is Iron Man. Some people loved this, considering the possibilities that are opened up in a sequel - the hero n...

    Enter: War Machine 2

Okay, let me start out by saying that I did not enjoy this movie as much as the first one.  That said, I still really liked it.  I loved how they really incorporated War Machine into everything, Whiplash was awesome, and it was cool to see Black Widow join the cast.   Also, I only recently "discovered" Justin Hammer, so it was interesting to see him in there too.  As far as acting goes, I thought most of the actors did well.  Mickey Rourke did a fantastic job as Whiplash, Robert Downey Jr. did w...

Has he lost his mind? 1

Don't get me wrong I liked Ironman 2 it was good and exciting. But it is like most sequels worse than the original. I was expecting allitle bit better though. The story starts out with a man in Russia named Ivan making a suit to go up against Ironman. The government later asks for the Ironman suit and Stark will not let them have it. The Soviet attempts to kill Ironman but fails miserably. The Russian escapes prison with the help of Stark's bussiness rival Justin Hammer and he gives him supplies...

Putting the Hammer down on Iron Man 2 0

A  number of reviews pertaining to Iron Man 2, and here's another one.  A brief overview with my impressions of this movie:  Allow me to start with some minor annoyances instead of touting the positives.  The interplay between Stark and Pepper was good, BUT it got old a bit quick.  Could've used less of that in the film.   The special effects.  I don't know, some of it was so fast and hard to follow, and when I did see some of it, notably Whiplash, it made me cringe a bit.   Despite these minor ...

    Terrifically Awesome! 0

I read the book before seeing this movie, and after reading the book I thought "It'll be an okay movie." and today (for my birthday) I went to see this movie, half the stuff in the book had been changed, which was good, considering the fact that I was expecting everything. Before I actually start reviewing let me say, "This is a heart-stopping adrenaline thrill-ride!" The Good The acting was INCREDIBLE. Robert Downey Jr. was terrific, Mickey Rourke seemed a completely driven, evil mastermind, no...

Iron Man 2: The Loser Stand 0

This movie was terrible. It was unture to the Iron Man mythos. It ripped off Backlash and the Crimison Dynamo and made them into a racist stereotypical Russian supervillain. The plot was overly complex with too many villains, confusing plotlines and mindless stunts. This film should be on the poorly-made movie-mocking  Mystery Science Theater 3000!...

A hero with not enough time 1

He has money, he has fans, and now, he has a week to live. Iron Man 2 is the sequel to the 2008 movie, Iron Man (duh), but a major portion of this film is setting up for Thor and Captain America in 2011 and Marvel Studios biggest planned movie, The Avengers (2012). Robert Downey Jr, Gwenth Paltrow, Samuel L. Jackson, and Director Jon Favreao return with a group of new main cast members, Don Chelde, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, and Mickey Rourke to bring you this action packed comic book mov...

    Iron Man 2 0

The first Iron Man was an awesome movie. I gotta say that this movie is quiet better than the first. The reason well, it has to do with all the characters who played a part in this movie. It's fine with me with many characters involved. But I wouldn't say it''s that many. Anyways, we have Tony Stark who revealed his secret identity to the whole world from the first movie. Since, now everyone knows that he is Iron Man, he's being offered by the government to create weapons. But Tony didn't like t...

    Iron fiasco 0

Hey guy, what happened with that creativity that made the first movie a great one! Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) makes appearance at the Stark Expo wearing his armor and driving people crazy. After his speech he makes himself a blood taste just to see that is infected. The reason is that his electric device in his chest is killing him and there’s nothing that may replace it. Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) realizes something is going wrong with Tony but he surprises her by giving her the charge...

    Stands On Its Own 0

Okay, I heard the critics. I saw the tomatoes rating. After I saw the movie I have one question. "What slow down in the middle?" You mean the story and characterization? I did not feel a slow down at all, as a matter of fact, I thought this movie was every bit as good as the first. As a geek there were a few comic book references, the subtle where Jon Favreus character finally gets a name, we find out that he is Tony Starks long time friend "Happy Hogan". Although they never say his last name....

    I Hope You're Ready!!!! 0

Iron Man returns and faces a new foe and a disease. With his identity revealed Tony is confronted by the government to hand over his suit, but doesn't. Not only does he face that, but also he's dying due to the palladium in his heart too. The action scenes were great and it was cool to see Nick Fury and Natalie Rushman aka Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow. John Favreau did a great jod directing the movie, but also played a great Happy Hogan too. Ivan Vanko was a good villian and I liked how he w...

Film Review -- Iron Man 2 / Jon Favreau, Robert Downey, Jr. and M 0

Originally posted on my blog, The Comics Cove, not too long ago...Disclaimer: This is a review I'd written a year or so ago, on another blog, slightly edited. I figure with The Avengers film coming up soon, it'd be good to review the Marvel films that have led up to it, and it made sense to re-post this review rather than write a completely new-yet-similar one for Iron Man 2. My basic feelings about this film remain unchanged from a year ago, anyway. Enjoy!I'll admit, the teasers for this film m...

    Shoots to Thrill 2

With Iron Man 3 coming out this Thursday (25th April 2013) I felt that it's about time I got round to doing my review for Iron Man 2, as I originally planed on reviewing all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe prior to Iron Man 3, but so far have only done a review for Iron Man, so I at least need to do one for Iron Man 2.PlotSPOILER FREEAfter revealing himself as Iron Man, Tony Stark has been confronted by the US Government to hand over his technology which doesn't suit well with him. Also a new f...

    It was pretty good. 0

A lot of people said that this was a horrible story and that it was bad but I actually thought the movie respected the character and that the story kept me very locked into it.also the special effects were good and it and it had a very interesting story.last after I watched the movie I went back and watched one more time because the first movie got me in iron man mood.so if you want to see a good iron man movie see this one(after the first one)....

Shellhead was a little dull this time around. 0

After revealing to the public he is Iron Man. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) has turned Iron Man into a showman. This causes him problems as a man from the shadows begins to plot against him, and the US Government seeks to take his armor away from him. -summaryThe first Iron Man movie was an instant hit with me and surprisingly over time it managed to get better. There were plenty of reasons for this too, with serious character development and the supporting characters playing a role. Unfortunat...
