In the original power man and iron fist, power man was always depicted as the more powerful of the two. While this was true then (back when he could only use the iron fist once a fight basically), is it true now? Even the new power man has been said to be more powerful. But since the Immortal Iron Fist series, danny's been a lot more powerful. Now his power's not limited to his fist, his whole body is powerful, and he can even charge projectiles. Add in his hypnotique abilities, healing abilities, infinite kung-fu knowledge and the lack of limit to his powers and it would seem iron fist is now more powerful than his two partners. He punched through a helicarrier and a train, so it doesn't make sense that he's always portrayed as the weak team member.
Iron Fist
Character » Iron Fist appears in 2258 issues.
The latest in a long line of warriors who wielded the power, Danny Rand is the immortal Iron Fist: protector of the mystical city of K'un Lun. He channels the soul of the dragon Shou-Lao making his fists into powerful weapons. He is among the best, if not the best fighter in the Marvel Universe. He has also been a member of The Defenders and the New Avengers.
Is Iron Fist more powerful than Power Man?
I think IF is more varied in powerset now, and he's always been someone who can mess you up with accuracy and skill, but I'd still peg PM as superior as a "bruiser" and certainly with taking damage. They're different types of fighters. I'd say they're about evenly matched in a fight, but PM would have more raw power and durability.
depends on how you define more powerful, physically Cage is a lot more powerful but Iron Fist can summon enough chi to compensate for Cage's strength advantage so in that respect Iron Fist is more powerful

Actually... in the Thunderbolts or when ever Norman took over IF mind, Luke Cage said that Danny "was always" the stronger one of the team. One other instance is when they had to fight this metal robot and Luke couldn't even hurt it but Danny used his Chi to punch right through it.
So yes, it has been proven time and time again that IF was the stronger and more versatile of the 2.
The two characters are too different to compare power levels.Iron Fist's power is all chi based. He's not actually stronger or more durable than Cage he just now HITS alot harder because his attacks are backed by a massive chi output and has healing factor.I'd like to see Danny lift something that's 25 tons or take a hit from from a class 100 without being severely injured.
This is sort of like asking if Paris Hilton is more powerful than Lindsay Lohan. Lohan will feel less physical pain, and she has the weight advantage, but Paris is blond and has the reach advantage. If either of them hit you, you skin will burn uncomfortably. Lindsey would end up with Jessica Jones, but Paris Hilton is a billionaire but also lost a lot of her money and so had to enter deadly underground fight tournaments to live. Oh and she is also immortal.
So really there are three answers here and they are all the same.
@Samurai Condoms: Well then it really depends on what the OP means by "powerful."
Technically, work is the amount of work over time. Work is energy. Chi is a source of energy. So therefore in most instances in fighting IF is more "powerful" in different categories.
If we are talking about who can lift more, than that is a different kind of power. So overall Iron Fist can use his Chi to make himself faster, more durable and to strike harder while Luke Cage can only lift more and that is it. I wonder if Iron Fist can lift heavy objects with his Chi amp.
Iron Fist has a more varied powerset since he's now able to channel his chi throughout his whole body and not just one fist at a time. He also has limited energy projection powers now. Luke, however, has a high level of durability and strength (which is rated lower that it really should be, imo) which would make him more consistently, physically powerful than Iron Fist. Both are excellent hand-to-hand combatants as well, but Iron Fist far out-classes Luke in that department.
Fist has defeated Davos the steel serpent using only skill while Davos was in possession of Danny's power. To give you guys an idea of how skilled Davos is, spidey tried to interrupt and got swatted by Davos.
Forgive me for not having the scan, but Danny knocks Luke out in it. It'd be cool if in one of their shows, if when they get introduced to each other, it's Danny KOing him acidentally and later on when/if they become buddies(which I feel like they're going to do a Heroes for Hire later down the line), Danny says jokingly: "Don't act like I can't knock you out".
I think it kind of sucks that they've upgraded Iron Fist THIS much frankly, it's taken him way too far away from the character's concept.
Yeah though, he's definitely more powerful than Luke now.
I could like to see Danny move faster use chi to become bullet proof , use both fist with the glow and heal the group with a large burst of good chi. They should look at Danny as the group healer and also the ace in the whole. Power Man would be the tank and DD would be the puller. For those whom know mmorpg your group consist of a tank , a damage dealer , a healer and a puller. But you can have two pullers thus Jessica would be the second and also she could be considered a secondary tank. Chi can be used for just about anything so bring on the awesome show of Iron Fist. Plus love it when they work as a team.
