Lyle Norg was asked by his father to create a invisbility serum. After finally finishing it, he learned of his father's plans to give it away. So Lyle injected himself with the only sample of the serum and lied to his father about it. Lyle then contacted Brainiac 5 for help and was asked to join the Legion of Superheroes.

A child prodigy, Lyle became interested in physics at an early age. His greatest invention was a serum that bends light around his body and clothing, rendering him invisible at will. The U.P. became interested in Lyle's discovery and enlisted him to do some investigative work for them. Although security considerations prevent him from discussing that period of his life, his close friendship with Chameleon suggests that Lyle spent time on Durla.

A few years later, Lyle arranged to have himself drafted into the Legion as Invisible Kid. His motive for joining is unclear, but his value to the team has been proven many times over. His intuitive grasp of applied science led him to create the Legion's flight rings. His sharp mind, ingenuity and charismatic personality serve him well as a leader of the Legion.  
 
Lyle and the Legion helped the Wanderers fight the Dominators when the aliens invaded Earth.  During the battle Lyle's flight ring blew up, and he lost his arm.

To investigate matters that do not fall under the Legion's proper jurisdiction, Lyle formed the top-secret Legion Espionage Squad. The makeup of the squad is known only to its members.  

Powers and Abilities

Invisible Kid can turn any or all parts of his body invisible at will.  He can also make others invisible, although it takes a lot of effort.
