I had been looking into picking up Robert Kirkman's Invincible in trade form, and I would like to know the difference between the different versions before I buy any.

@Funrush: are you looking for 5 issue trades or or a complete collection trade?

I was asking what the difference between the trades were, such as one not having covers, or one being in softcover, that sort of thing.

Each of the hardcovers is 2 softcovers, other than that they are identical. One minor difference is that the hardcovers have a sketchbook for two volumes at the end instead of where they seperate in the trades, whereas trades have them at the end of the trade. No significant differences other than hardcover and soft cover. An example of how they are structured followed.

Hardcover (HC) 1= Softcover (SC) 1-2

HC 2 = Softcover 3=4 et cetera,

P.S don't know about the giant like 40 issue versions though.

i got the Ultimate Collections (all thus far), and imo, that's the way to go. It may be pricey, but the amount of time each one comes out is enough for me to save from work, and the end result is damn worthed. However, it should be noted that if you're itching to read it soo bad, then get the current ultimate collections, then pick up the trades from there.
