Invincible Battling For The Fate Of Earth

A Battle for the fate of the Earth
A Battle for the fate of the Earth

Invincible is a very unique title. No issue is usually ever the same. Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley (who joined as artist on issue 8 of the series) have taken Invincible from being a fresh superhero to a new world and eventually changing things up by giving him different plot points like children! Whenever Robert and Ryan get a chance they always like to spice things up by killing or introducing a new element to the series that changes how everyone looks at the series. This is easily one of the BEST titles ever made!

The issue begins with Mark accompanied by Thragg and Young Omni-Man with Allen who are at a standoff above Earth's atmosphere. As both Young Omni-Man and Allen want to destroy Earth, Invincible and his not-so-good friend is trying to protect their home. However, the Guardians of the Globe come just in time to fight everyone and almost let the Scourge Virus destroy the entire population of Earth just to kill a few of the Viltrumite soldiers that are hiding on Earth. With Invincible's best efforts, he saves the entire planet, but at what cost?

    The Good

    No Caption Provided

What an issue! This is possibly my new favorite, favorite of the series. The entire title of INVINCIBLE is always ready for change and from reading this story, they are expecting huge changes in the coming issues. Having missed a few of the previous issues, I didn't have the chance to see what lead up to this 88th issue here, however Kirkman's writing on the series always provides enough information even if someone missed two or three issues like I did. The dialogue is never dry and it always flows with how the story progresses.

Ryan Ottley is an amazing artist! Since issue 8 of the series he has been doing a terrific job with the action and overall look of the title. He does an outstanding job from beginning to end of this comic, especially during the fight scenes with Young Omni-Man in this issue, especially with how he designs Invincible at the very last page of the comic, his artwork is a masterpiece worth having!

    The Bad

No idea what was bad in this comic, the sheer awesomeness of the good blocked out the bad.

    The Verdict

If you are not reading this series then you are missing out on a good title, it is read by other universes you know that right?. There is always something for everyone in this title and it goes to show how dedicated Robert and Ryan are to creating a good monthly comic book title. Overall 5 out of 5. Spoiler Alert: When Mark battles Young Omni-Man in Earth's Atmosphere they struggle and eventually Mark is found to be infected with the Scourge Virus.
