Introducing Captain Marvel the World's Mightiest Mortal
I wont be reviewing any of the other stories in this comic like the Golden Arrow, Ibis, Spy Smasher, Scoop Smith, Lance O'Cassey, or Dan Dare stories. This is just a review of the Captain Marvel story. This is the first appearance of Captain Marvel(Shazam) and I think this really is one of the best first appearances I have read so far. The comic is a great introduction for those who dont know much about Captain Marvel(Shazam) and want to know some of the core elements. This comic introduces you what this character is like, Billy Batson's backstory, and introduces Dr. Sivana. This comic has aged fairly well and the art still looks really good. It does a great job on what it set out to do it introduces us to both Captain Marvel and Billy Batson and set the seeds for future stories to come. If you dont mind old or digital comics I would recommend reading it over at comicbookplus.com for free because it is in the public domain or simply trying to find a physical copy somehow.
