The woman who would become Insomnia was in a chemical accident similar to that that affected Matt Murdock, which left with heightened senses and an inability to sleep. Lawyer Lawrence Cranston got her a generous settlement and a job as the manager for Wilson Fisk's Radio WFSK. The entire building was carefully lit and insulated to allow her to sleep as well as possible. Cranston also recruited her to his criminal enterprises, and she became Mr. Fear's ally Insomnia.
Insomnia stole hazardous chemicals from another group of criminals, and Daredevil had to chase her down on horseback to stop her from escaping with them. Insomnia later held Karen Page captive, believing that she knew something about Daredevil. Daredevil rescued Karen, but Insomnia escaped with one of his Billy-clubs, which she gave to Mr. Fear.
Powers & Abilities
Chemical mutations left Insomnia with a heightened sense of sight and incredible reflexes. Her body produces an excess of adrenaline, leaving her in mental and physical overdrive constantly. The combination of her powers leaves her unable of sleeping well or for protracted periods of time.
Insomnia makes use of a flying platform for mobility, and guns that can fire conventional ammunition or chemical weapons.
