Injustice: Gods Among Us was a very fun fighting game (check out our review here). Even when you completed the story mode and challenges, NetherRealm Studios was able to keep interest in the title strong by creating six downloadable characters, new skins, and more. However, you can't help but want even more from this alternate universe. Sure, you can read the very awesome digital comic (and you should), but many of us want to play as so many more characters and see where the story goes after the first one, too. Luckily for us, it looks like a sequel is reportedly in the works. During WonderCon, the game was allegedly name-dropped during a segment chatting about the upcoming Batman game Arkham Knight.

IGN speculates that if a studio other than NetherRealm is behind the project, a 2015 release might not be far-fetched. That said, there's no official word -- at least not yet -- on who's developing the possible game or an expected release date. Cool, I hope they take out Hawkgirl and put in Hawkman. Seriously, DC has sooo many other cool female characters, so why should we lose out on getting to play as Hawkman?

The last time DC/WB let another studio handle one of their game franchises, we got Arkham Origins that had so many glitches and bugs that it became unbearable. Just let Netherrealm Studios do this so we get a quality product, not a rushed and unpolished one.

When there's only one source saying something was announced at a panel, you bet I'm going to play it safe and say it allegedly happened. I get what you're saying, though. "Allegedly Being Made" or whatever would have been more fitting, but I STAND BY MAH WORDS!

I really hope so, the story was good as well as the gameplay and characters. I'd definitely get the second should it be made.

If they do make it it better be made after they finish the comic, I didn't play the story in Injustice cause I want to read what happens before it before I start playing the rest of the story.

If it's not Neatherealm I'm not buying it

If they don't include Darkseid in this one I will be very dissapointed. Also, Deadshot, Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Steppenwolf or TALONS(!) anyone?

This is actually really exciting! I didn't think Injustice, one of my favorite video games, would actually get a sequel. I wonder what new characters they'll bring in?

If NRS makes it all they need to do is increase walkspeed across the board and it will be a pretty damn good fighter for what it is.

I know i hate that. She is probably within game because JL/JLU animated series. Hawkman and another female character (maybe Vixen or Black Canary) would be a better choise than her.

Exactly, off the top of my head I can probably name about 10 other female characters I would rather see over Hawkgirl. Hopefully now that Hawkman has been gaining more and more popularity, Netherrealm will take the data they used to make Hawgirl and use it to create Hawkman. Let's face it, he was made for a fighting game.

If the sequel ties into the comic series it would be awesome!

Hope it's a complete game and full of DC stuff.

Anyway, I loved the game and I'm loving the comic, so more INJUSTICE is welcomed.

Well the last game did end on a cliffhanger; so it only makes sense that a sequel is coming. I mean we all saw that coming right?

I kinda only want an Injustice sequel of NRS does it, but I'd much rather have MK 10.

I feel like I'd rather have more DLC than an entire new game; but whatever, as long as we get more characters. ANimal Man, Swamp Thing, Static, Blue Beetle would all be nice.

I hope this sequel is a bit different and just a sequel in terms of gameplay and not story. I'd prefer they something similar to what Infinite Crisis (the MOBA) is doing, and just have some event happen where we get characters from multiple universes fight each other (instead of doing a skin swap like they did with Batman/Batman Beyond, and the Earth 2 skins). I'd like to see something like Superboy-Prime, Owlman, and so on.

I don't want it to be all the heroes and then Batmans entire rogues gallery.

I do want it to have a nice selection of characters from a road spectrum of comics.

If it isn't NRS, then the only plus point I can think of is that we won't get any crappy MK characters in a DC game. The only thing I didn't like about the first game was getting fobbed off with scorpion.

Meh. They need better costumes and more interesting characters next time. Especially the dlc, that was abysmal for the most part.

I'm not actually sure this is necessary. The story of the first one sucked (the comics are great though, possibly the second best thing to happen since New 52 right behind Batman, maybe even tied), so without looking forward to a new story I feel like they may as well just keep DLCing the old game. I understand that doesn't make the same cash though, so I don't blame them.

@daltonmunnal: Actually most people I know not only liked the story, but appreciated that they even bothered to put a story in a fighting game. I wasn't a fan of the story, but I agree that they deserve credit just for putting one in.

@vitalius: Yeah, but they were developing the game when the New 52 was just coming out, so Hawkman wasn't as popular (although I did see a lot of fans who were disappointed he wasn't included) but now he's really worked his way up in the ranks. I wouldn't be surprised if Neatherrealm has started to rethink their roster, and consider putting him in. I know me and a lot of other people would greatly welcome his inclusion.

Let's hope they rework the base design for their female characters. They look horrible and far too manly. I'd love for them to add Zatanna again with her New52 outfit and a different voice actor (sounds so obnoxious in the game.)
