Infocomics

In the late 80s, Infocom, a software company, formed Infocomics to expand how a reader could interact with a story. The basic premise was that the story would progress but that an indicator (a dogeared page) would show when backstory was available. These indicators were jump points in which the reader could view the same story but from another character's perspective. The story always ended the same, but jumping from perspective to perspective was to give the reader a more full reading experience.

Only four Infocomics were released. Each was priced at $12 but sold poorly. The sales were probably due to the fact that the graphics were pedestrian in comparison to the art of physical comic books. In addition, the properties were largely unknown.
