    Infinite Crisis

    Story arc »

In the chaos ensuing after the unleashing of the OMACs on Earth, the Spectre's vendetta against magic, and the Rann-Thanagar War, four beings decide to try and save the universe: Superman and Lois Lane of Earth-Two, Superboy of Earth-Prime, and Alexander Luthor of Earth-Three. What resulted was the *Infinite Crisis.*

I got the hard cover a few days ago, and I'm on page 60 now.

Is this one of the most confusing comics ever, or is it just that I haven't read enough about the DCU?

Don't get me wrong, cause I'm loving it, I just have to read it slowly, and take breaks about every 10 pages to wrap my head around the whole concept of everything.

Does the hardcover have any tie-in issues included? Probably not, huh? Some of the regular titles (like Superman and Teen Titans) really help with fleshing out missing details.

No, just the core issues (7 I believe)

I like it, but it's confusing because they keep talking about how things used took part in separate universes, but were later combined and all kinds of stuff.

Which titles would would help it the most?

Ah, it's been a while since I read it. Like I said, just about any of the Superman volumes and Teen Titans would help some. Along with JLA and JSA.

But, for what is specifically bothering you continuity wise sounds like all the references back to the old "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover. If you can get ahold of the hard cover of that story arc, then you might be able to make better sense of the mess.

I think that my friend has it, so should I stop reading Infinite Crisis until I finish Crisis on Infinite Earths?

No you don't have to read Crisis on Infinite Earth. Infinite Crisis is just basically cleaning up the mess that Crisis on Infinite Earth left over, if you want a broader picture of whats going on you just need to read a quick summary of Crisis on Infinite Earth to know what the problem is. Because what had happened was there used to be a multiverse(multiple parallel universes), Crisis on Infinite Earth cleaned that up and made only 1 universe in the DCU. Now in Infinite Crisis, the last survivors from the multiverse(superboy-prime, earth 2 superman and lois) try to bring the multiverse back.

I'm really into the DCU and had read Crisis on Infinite Earths and found Infinite Crisis confusing. You aren't alone. It's because so much is going on. It would also help if they had the old 'Don't read this untill you have read Somethingelse#23' signs, just to keep you in continuity. I found that a couple of times in Civil War, they would refer to something important that happens in another comic I hadn't read yet.

Well it helps to know that I'm not alone in my confusion.

Thanks for the suggested back reading, and I think that this thread is just about finished.

I just went on wikipedia and read up on all of these; I just can't beeleev how many books and arcs there are to this story line; I mean, I know they're separate arcs but...there's a lot of information there. I'm probably gonna spend about $300 to $400 on all of these. BTW, this site is the shizzit!!!

You need to read Coundown to Infinite Crisis 1, OMAC 1 - 6, Day of Vengence 1 - 6, Villians United 1 - 6 and Rann Thanagar War 1 - 6. After which there are issue of OMAC, Day of Venegence, Villians United, and Rann Thanagar war that explain how those stories connect to Infinite Crisis.

I had to refer to my all knowing comic book friend for this book as well. He had me read the Crisis on Infinite Earths book first. Which was hard to read the first 100 pages due to bordom. It gets better though.
