    Indestructible Hulk #1 Review

    The Good

I believe the first issue of this title was excellent and easy reading. Mark Waid did a great job on puzzling in the pieces of things from the beginning of the issue to the end making it an interesting story once you begin to flip the cover of the comic. In this relaunch, Waid explains more of how Banner comes to agreement with his other side and find ways not to overcome the Hulk, but rely on and be the green monster inside of him when the time is need. The crew for Hulk in the Marvel NOW! relaunch are taking this story into a whole new direction that, I think will raise lots of attention towards the next up-coming issues.

I think Leinil Francis Yu did a great job with the character and is a perfect pick up for this title. The two-page spread of Hulk when he rips into action against the Mad Thinker is seriously one of the most badass artworks I have ever seen done on the character, for sure. I believe with the helping hand of expert colorist Sunny Gho, the character is expressed more openly with the drawings as if you can read the story without the words, making just the art as much of an explainable piece as what Waid, himself have written. In the action scenes, you can see the intense, hard hitting battle when Banner turns into the Hulk and starts smashing. It's an all-round good first issue.

    The Bad

In all honesty, I have nothing to say negative about this issue. It could've had more action and "Hulk Smashing" if I would have to choose a downfall, but it's the first issue and I think it's not necessary to go right into the action. I think Waid did a good job in taking the beginning slowly as possible, but also make a one scene thing, then straight into the "Indestructible Hulk".

    The Verdict

Overall, I think the title's going to raise lots of attention due to the fact that in this relaunch, Banner comes to understandings with the Hulk and find ways to take control of his advantages, which are his genius mind and of his green and angry monster stored inside of him awaiting to break out like a new-born chick hatching from its egg. The story starts off with Maria Hill, director of S.H.I.E.L.D. (in replacement of Nick Fury) in a dining room chatting over new data to another S.H.I.E.L.D. staff via intel, until Banner comes walking in trying to ease his way into becoming apart of S.H.I.E.L.D. in order to make the country and the world a better place. Not going to spoil it for you guys any further, so your going to have to pick up the issue yourself and find out what the "Indestructible Hulk" and the intelligence agency called S.H.I.E.L.D. has in store for us in the Marvel Universe!

This is the Marvel NOW! series I have been most looking forward to. There is a number of reasons I have been most looking forward to this series but the main reason is due to the previous Incredible Hulk series being so bad, and wanting to see a good Hulk series once more. Another thing that I was looking forward to was seeing how Mark Waid handled the character as he's turned the Daredevil character into one of Marvel's best new series (at the time) with Daredevil.PlotThis issue sees Bruce Bann...
