    The Death Of A God

    The Story:

Hera plans to unleash the mysterious Continuum and become the universe's ultimate goddess. Hercules teams up with an assortment of Avengers to put an end to her evil plot.

    My Thoughts:

Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente finish their run on Incredible Hercules in this ultimate finale. I wasn't a fan of the previous story arc (The Mighty Thorcules) and was utterly disappointed by it. I'm glad to say that the writers stepped it up and finished the series on a high note. This final story arc had all the qualitites we've come to expect when reading this series; action, humor and betrayal.

While the series is all about Herucles, Amadeus Cho has played a vital role in it. He's not grown as an individual himself, he's also help Hercules develop further as well. The two have made a great team and have been fun to read. I like how Athena has been mentoring Amadeus Cho. We find out he is to be the next Prince Of Power which will be interesting to see how exactly that plays out.

I was glad we actually received some real funny humor this time around. The part with Peter Parker dating Hebe was hilarious. Fred Van Lente is no stranger to writing Spider-Man so it's not surprise this part was written well.

The ending was probably the best part. You pretty much knew it was going to happen the entire time but it didn't make it any less enjoyable. I'm very much looking forward to the fallout of this. I want to see how the Marvel universe will be affected by it.

The art is done by Rodney Buchemi, Reilly Brown and Jason Paz. If you've kept up with this series then you know what type of art to expect. The same style remians which is a good thing in my opinion. The covers were designed real well with the exception of the one where US Agent appears. Something just doesn't look right about the way he's drawn. Overall very solid artwork.

A great read and a nice end to the series. This series has had its ups and downs, but for the most part has managed to be rather entertaining. Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente made a great team and it's unfortunate this series has come to an end. I'd recommend going back and reading this series if you haven't.

Over the last six months or so I've been reading my way through this series in single issues. "Love and War" has been my favorite arc so far. Glad to know the "Thorcules" thing kinda sucks. Thats what I've got to look forward to next.
